Indicative values per DIN/EN: composition in mass %, strength at room temperature in the solution-annealed condition. Verify against the applicable standard before specifying. Full datasheets with PDF at schierle-siyaya.com.
Check a 3.1 certificate in three steps.
- 01
Find the grade
Search the material number or AISI grade printed on the EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificate.
- 02
Compare the analysis
Hold the certified Cr, Ni and Mo contents and Rp0.2 / Rm against the ranges for a first plausibility check. The applicable standard stays binding.
- 03
Document it
Record the result in your inspection sheet. CertX builds that sheet from the drawing — every characteristic ballooned and traceable.
Material grades, briefly answered
Which material number is AISI 316L?
1.4404 (X2CrNiMo17-12-2), UNS S31603.
What is the difference between 1.4301 and 1.4404?
1.4404 (X2CrNiMo17-12-2) contains 2–2.5 % molybdenum, 1.4301 (X5CrNi18-10) none. The molybdenum makes 1.4404 (316L) more resistant to pitting in chloride-containing media; 1.4301 (304) is the classic 18/10 chromium-nickel steel.
Which grades does the table cover?
53 grades: austenitic, duplex and ferritic stainless steels, heat-resistant steels and nickel-based alloys.
Can I use the values to check a 3.1 certificate?
For a first plausibility check, yes: compare the certified Cr, Ni and Mo contents and Rp0.2 / Rm with the ranges. The values are indicative per DIN/EN — the applicable standard stays binding.
